Love It Out
Who doesn't love to be #twinning with their LO's?! It's so much fun, and I love how cute we look together!! Am I right?! Lincoln also won't let me do this forever so I HAVE to take advantage of this opportunity! I chose the Love It Out design because everyday we are faced with so many personal challenges. They may be bigger and tougher on some days, but I look at my son and I think, no matter what life throws at me, I always want to look at him with love and a smile. He makes this scary world a happier place. Not to mention he is my favorite person. I love that I get to spend my days playing, laughing and watching Paw Patrol for the 1 millionth time before lunch. I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. If we can all learn to Love it Out then we may be able to let some of those small worries and stresses disappear. If you see a friend or a stranger without a smile, give them one of yours.
I want to share about how Alexis of Shop It Out, finds her inspiration, and how it all got started!
Q. How did you get to where you are today? What was the first thing you did? Next?
A. I started by going to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and obtaining my degree in Apparel Manufacturing. After school I worked as a product developer in several different corporations. I finally decided to branch out on my own creating my first company, That's Child's Play, an organic clothing line for little girls. This eventually led me to create Shop It Out.
Q. What would you do differently if you knew then what you know now?
A. The only thing I would do differently would be to network more when I was living in Los Angeles and Portland.
Q. Tell me about your brand. What inspires you to do what you do?
A. Shop It Out is a tee shirt line for men, women and children that is designed to radiate happiness. I feel that no matter what life brings our way, the world is a better place when we dance our way through it. I am really inspired by others; I do not know what the person at Target is going through but if I can design and sport a tee that makes them feel better I am doing my job. I go through so many samples to make sure the shirt fabric and fit is perfect, you can't beat a comfy shirt that fits in all the right places!
Q. What has been or is your biggest challenge?
A. My biggest challenge is getting the word out about Shop It Out.
Q. If you could give one quick tip to a kid what would you tell them?
A. I would tell them to never stop believing in themselves and never stop creating.
Q. What's next for you?
A. My fall/ winter line.
